The story

Had issues with gut biome since childhood, had dysbiosis diagnosis. Bloating, IBS, gastritis, low stomach acidity. Also problems with vaginal microflora and recurring yeast infections.

Got better in adulthood during lower stress periods, would all get worse during stress.

4 years ago after a course of antibiotics for UTI and a viral infection (kids hand-foot-moth disease) everything got worse, increased food intolerances (gluten, some fruits), bloating in upper part of abdomen. Haemorrhoids.

Then had some stomach pains, had a gastroscopy done, confirmes mild gastritis, no H.pylori detected, prescribed Omeprasol, which helped with the pain, but feels like provoked further worsening of bloating.

Taking Enterol (S. boulardii) and Rebamipide (Rebagit) helps. Also some probiotics.

Note: I am hypermobile, and it looks like this has an effect on gut lining.

Important

This is one person's reported experience aggregated by GutPattern, not clinical advice, a treatment protocol, or a diagnosis. What helped one contributor can do nothing — or harm — for someone with a different underlying cause. Sudden, severe, bloody, feverish, or worsening symptoms belong with medical care. Always discuss care decisions with a qualified clinician.
